#3 Curiosity
Finally completed Maya's theme. The task has always been at the back of my mind but I could not settle on an idea I liked enough. Inspiration came when I was cleaning out my pen and noticed the interesting swirls. I'm currently obsessed with Lana Del Rey's music and the song felt somewhat appropriate. I'll leave it to you to interpret what it all means.
Simply done in movie maker. I think I'd like to use videos a bit more. Maybe for this semester's studio.
Cheers,
Emm

3x2
I need some help for my studio assignment. Here's the brief:
'Update: re Photography exercise. Requirements = 6 final images. Ornamentation/Patterning 3 x A4. Body+Interior/Architecture 3 x A4 images. All printed in reasonable quality (not photocopies). A4 size of printed image is approximate, but no larger. No Photoshop manipulation. Due: Tuesday 7 Aug. 9am.
At this stage photography is being used as a method for 'seeing' the world around you and as a way of becoming aware of the details and 'small' things. It teaches us to be observant. This medium allows you to express yourself and your interests in a direct way without worrying whether you are a 'good' artist or not. Photography is a technique for representation which you hopefully will use more as the semester and your work progresses.'
And here's what I have.
In studio next week, we don't actually comment on our work but that of others.
So let me know if you think it's in keeping with the requirements. Also, what do you get from the photos. And if there's something you think I should change with the cropping or tones...or the picture altogether. I'm going somewhere where there's snow this Sunday so maybe I get inspiration from Michael Kenna(thanks Maya!) and get some more pics. Thanks!
Er...also...I feel kinda bad that I'm the only one posting stuff here. Please please post also Maya and Cecil. Thank you.
